Questions Worth Asking About Hormone Therapy
6 minute read
This article does not recommend for or against any therapy, and it does not compare products. Decisions about hormone therapy belong to you and your prescribing clinician, based on your history.
Questions to bring
- Given my personal and family history, what are the risks and benefits in my case?
- What are the options, including non-hormonal ones, and how do they differ?
- How would we know whether it is working, and by when?
- What monitoring or follow-up would we do, and how often?
- What would make you recommend stopping or changing course?
- What does the current evidence say about timing relative to my age and years since my last period?
Write the answers down during the appointment. A decision you can explain to yourself later is a decision you actually made.
